Netflix Serves Up a Culinary Experience with Its New Pop-Up Restaurant

By: Steve Turk

Imagine you are in a restaurant, a hush falls over the room as silver trays are lifted, revealing artful dishes you might recognize from your favorite Netflix food shows. The sizzling aroma wafts into the air, cutting through the murmurs and whispers. Welcome to Netflix Bites, the platform's first foray into the culinary arena, turning your favorite foodie programs from the TV screen to your plate.

Order’s up! Netflix, the streaming behemoth known for chart-topping shows like "Stranger Things" and "The Queen's Gambit," is now making a sizzling entrance into the food world with the opening of its first pop-up culinary venture, Netflix Bites. In an unprecedented marriage of gastronomy and media, Netflix is giving fans of its popular food-centric shows a chance to taste their favorite on-screen meals.

Set to open on June 30 at Short Stories Hotel in Los Angeles, Netflix Bites brings an elevated dining experience to the table. It combines the expertise of renowned chefs featured on Netflix's popular food shows like "Chef’s Table," "Is It Cake?," and "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend."

The restaurant location will promote Netflix's food shows like Chef's Table

Promising a unique blend of entertainment and gastronomy, the dining establishment will feature a rotating roster of celebrated chefs, including Curtis Stone, Dominique Crenn, Rodney Scott, Ming Tsai, Ann Kim, Nadiya Hussain, Jacques Torres, and Andrew Zimmern. These kitchen maestros will conjure up a special tasting menu that showcases their unique culinary styles, delivering a one-of-a-kind restaurant experience that is both familiar and novel.

Adding to the taste and spectacle of this culinary haven, fan-favorite mixologists from Netflix’s "Drink Masters" — including Frankie Solarik, Julie Reiner, LP O'Brien and Kate Gerwin — will be at the helm of the drinks section, crafting signature cocktails tailored for the Netflix Bites experience.

"Bringing my love of food to people across the world is one of the biggest thrills of my life but this screen-to-table experience of giving fans a taste of what happens on camera is just awesome," said Michelin-starred chef Curtis Stone.

Not limiting themselves to the evening, Netflix Bites will also offer a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm, broadening the gamut of foodie experiences.

"Netflix is already a destination for beloved food programming, from documentaries to competition shows," said Josh Simon, VP, Consumer Products. "From episode to entrée, with Netflix Bites we are creating an in-person experience where fans can immerse themselves in their favorite food shows."

With successful immersive live experiences like The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience, Stranger Things: The Experience, and Money Heist: The Experience under its belt, Netflix's move to take their food series from screen to table seems a natural progression.

Netflix Bites represents a bold fusion of screen and culinary arts, offering fans a unique opportunity to taste the creations they’ve seen on screen, stepping into the shoes of the judges they've watched so often. As they say in Hollywood, that's a wrap or, in this case, a wrap you can actually savor.
