🛎 Trending in Hospitality: The New Michelin Hotel Key Awards

This year is a significant one for the hospitality industry with the introduction of the Michelin Hotel Key awards. Similar to the Michelin Stars given to outstanding restaurants, these awards recognize hotels for their excellent guest experiences.

Miami(my hometown), known for its lively culture and beautiful beaches, is now also celebrated for its top-notch hotels. Several local hotels have received the first-ever Michelin Hotel Keys, highlighting their commitment to luxury and exceptional service.

Among the top achievers, Faena Hotel Miami Beach and the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club each earned Two Michelin Keys for their outstanding services. Faena is known for its luxurious Art Deco style and cultural vibrancy, while the Four Seasons brings back the old-school glamour of Florida in a beautiful beachfront location.

Other notable recipients include the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden, recognized for its Gatsby-like architecture, and the Setai, Miami Beach, which offers a calm atmosphere blending Eastern and Western styles. Hotels like 1 Hotel South Beach and Mandarin Oriental, Miami , Mr. C Miami also stand out, receiving One Key each for their sustainable luxury and stunning views of the city.

Understanding the Michelin Key Distinction

For decades, the Michelin Guide has offered trusted recommendations for dining and travel. Recently, they’ve updated their hotel reviews to identify the very best places to stay around the world. These reviews use strict criteria similar to those for Michelin Stars, evaluating aspects like design, service quality, personality, value, and local impact.

Hotels from the Michelin Guide are all candidates for a Key, and these awards range from One to Three Keys, indicating very special, exceptional, and extraordinary stays, respectively. The aim is to acknowledge hotels that go beyond the norm in all aspects.

Why This Is Important

The Michelin Hotel Key awards do more than just honor hotels; they reflect a hotel’s dedication to excellence and innovation. For Miami, having local hotels recognized is not only a point of pride but also attracts visitors from around the world looking for the best places to stay.

We are sharing our experiences visiting these top-rated hotels on our YouTube channel in our 50 Hotels in 50 Days challenge. We encourage everyone to watch as we discover what makes these hotels deserve their Michelin Keys.

This new chapter in hotel recognition pushes all those in hospitality to enhance their services and ensure memorable stays for every guest. Let’s continue to strive for excellence in hospitality.

🍔 What I’m Eating: Exploring Zeroe Caviar - A Plant-Based Luxury

Today, I'm excited to introduce a culinary innovation that’s reshaping luxury dining: Zeroe Caviar. This innovative company has created a vegan alternative to traditional caviar, offering a unique and ethical choice that stands out on any menu.

Zeroe Caviar is 100% vegan, crafted from seaweed harvested sustainably off the French coast. The care taken in its production ensures each bead replicates the fine taste and texture of traditional caviar, but without any animal products. It’s healthy too, packed with essential nutrients and free from harmful additives, providing a great option for those looking for a guilt-free indulgence.

Beyond its taste, Zeroe Caviar is committed to sustainability. By using seaweed, it supports marine conservation, making it a responsible choice that helps protect our oceans.

Here’s why I appreciate Zeroe Caviar as a unique addition to my client’s menus:

  • Exceptional Flavor: Zeroe Caviar captures the luxurious essence of traditional caviar, offering a gourmet experience that appeals to those with refined tastes.

  • Vegan and Eco-Friendly: This caviar meets the increasing demand for sustainable and plant-based dining options, allowing us to offer luxury without sacrificing our ethical standards.

  • Easy to Serve: Being shelf-stable and best served chilled, it's not only convenient but also enhances a variety of dishes, from starters to main courses.

My commitment to exceptional dining experiences aligns with Zeroe Caviar’s values. This product isn’t just food, it represents the future of dining, where luxury and responsibility go hand in hand.

For those interested in trying this innovative product and supporting sustainable luxury, you can check out their website to browse their selection.

Celebrities and social media influencers are already fans of Zeroe Caviar, and once you taste it, you’ll understand its appeal. It’s more than just caviar, it’s a movement towards more ethical and environmentally friendly dining choices. Join us in embracing this modern twist on a classic luxury. Your taste buds and the planet will be grateful.

💭 What I'm Inspired By: Embracing Experiences Over Things

It's incredibly inspiring to see a shift in priorities, where people are increasingly valuing travel and cultural exploration over accumulating material items. This change is evident even within my own family, where my children are now more excited about planning trips than they are about getting new toys.

Their enthusiasm for travel comes from the memorable and enjoyable experiences we share on these journeys. They recall the fun we had, the new foods they tasted, and the interesting people we met with such fondness. When I ask them why they prefer these trips, they tell me about the unforgettable memories we created together, which resonate with them more deeply than any physical item could.

My kids in Washington DC

This shift in perspective isn't just about seeking pleasure, it's about building deeper connections and understanding through shared experiences. I find myself just as enriched by these travels as they are. Every trip we take writes a new chapter in our family's story, adding to a treasure trove of cherished memories that will last us a lifetime.

This movement towards preferring experiences over physical goods is not just limited to my family but is becoming more common globally. It's a sign of a broader, more significant change toward a more connected and empathetic world. It reflects a collective desire to seek out moments that offer joy, growth, and connection.

As we continue to travel and learn from different cultures, these experiences shape us. They teach us about diversity, acceptance, and the joy of discovery. They remind us that the most valuable things in life aren't items we can purchase, they are the moments we share with loved ones.

I'm hopeful this trend continues and that more of us will find joy and fulfillment in enriching our lives and those of others through the transformative power of travel.
